Short answer: change the planning model, not merely the interface

Try BUSTAFIT first when the routine is already decided and the real problem is remembering what happened and acting on the next set. Keep Alpha Progression Pro on the shortlist when you want the app to build a stable plan and recommend load and repetitions for each set.

We do not present BUSTAFIT as an automatic routine generator or Alpha Progression as an entirely free solution: its page places generation, RIR, recommendations and charts in Pro.

02

Decide this before switching

  • Do I want the app to create the plan, or do I already have one?
  • Do I need RIR in the set-logging flow?
  • Do I want a suggestion I can review and change with context?
  • Do I need iPhone, Android, web or several platforms?
  • Is export a non-negotiable exit requirement?

A usable requirement

“I have a stable routine and want my last useful set before choosing load” can be tested. “I want a better app” cannot.

When BUSTAFIT is our first choice

BUSTAFIT stands out when the plan is not the problem. Load, repetitions, RIR and the last useful reference are connected to practical guidance, reducing the mental reconstruction between exposures. That is valuable when you want to keep control without starting each set blind.

A decision with context

If the reference was 70 kg × 10 at 2 RIR and today you complete 11 at the same RIR, a suggestion to hold or progress can be checked against the range and technique. History supports the decision; it does not issue an order.

The limits matter too: the reviewed listing publishes BUSTAFIT for iPhone and does not document full program generation, Android, web or CSV export.

Run three comparable sessions: one normal, one with lower performance and one with an equipment change. Score reference clarity, correction, explanation of the next action and history continuity. Switch only if the alternative improves the decision that started the search.

Migration checklist that preserves context

  1. Save the active block

Keep exercises, ranges, rest periods and three useful references.

  2. Test before importing

Reproduce one week without deleting or altering the source.

  3. Force an exception

Change a machine or log a performance drop and observe the flow.

  4. Use a written exit condition

Choose the tool that best resolves that behaviour, not the one with the longest feature list.
