Hevy: social logging with optional Pro planning

Hevy documents routines, tracking, statistics and social features. That model works when sharing activity, discovering workouts and maintaining a diary contribute to adherence.

Hevy Trainer changes the comparison: it generates a program from preferences and performance and recommends when and by how much to progress. It must be assessed separately as a Pro feature. Hevy also documents workout and measurement export.

03

Fitbod: the session starts with an adaptive engine

Fitbod uses goals, experience, history, preferences, equipment and duration to generate a session. It also allows editing, exercise substitutions, building from scratch and saved workouts.

RIR feeds future recommendations. This fits when delegating composition reduces friction; it may fit less well when you want a stable block with limited variation and direct control of every decision.

Where BUSTAFIT fits without forcing the matchup

BUSTAFIT is not positioned as a social network or a full adaptive-session generator. Its narrower job is useful: an established routine on iPhone, with the previous exposure turned into an understandable load or repetition decision.

The third path

You do not need daily exercise changes or a public feed. You need to know that last time you completed 10 reps at 2 RIR and decide whether to hold, add a rep or reassess effort. That is where BUSTAFIT deserves the first test.

This favourable fit does not remove the boundary: when community, Android, web or full generation are requirements, Hevy or Fitbod have the documented advantage.

06

A two-week decision test

  1. Define the main job

Socialise, delegate the session or execute an established routine with context.

  2. Repeat three exercises

Keep conditions comparable across three exposures.

  3. Introduce one exception

Change equipment or log lower performance.

  4. Review the explanation

Choose the app whose proposal you can understand, correct and preserve.

Do not use feature count as a tiebreaker. Use clarity on the job you actually repeat.
